Lorena PraterLorena's musicality was evident from very early on. By age five she was belting out Broadway show tunes from a picnic table, developing a natural voice that can be both powerful and subtle as well as beautiful and lyrical. These qualities coupled with an innate ability to communicate the emotional texture of the music and lyrics, results in the kind of charismatic stage presence that captures the attention of audiences of all ages. Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, Lorena played guitar and sang with her church folk group and performed leading roles in various school musicals. At thirteen, she began to perform for weddings and other special occasions, for which she frequently wrote special material. In November of 1995 Lorena landed a position in Burlington, Kansas, as lead female vocalist for the Burlington Jamboree, once known as the Flint Hills Opry, where country singer Chely Wright began her musical career. During that time Lorena played a vital role in the success of the theatre not only as an entertainer but also as a show promoter and co-producer.

Burlington JamboreeIn 1997, Lorena became a member of the following songwriter's groups: Aaron Enterprises, Petersburg, VA.; Songwriters Circle, Kansas City, MO.; ASCAP and the European CMA. In August of 1998 Lorena released a self published CD, titled "Dreamin'". Lorena's stylistic range and soulful attitude captured the attention of record promoter Frank Fara of Comstock Records. Lorena's latest 2002, Nashville release titled "What This Woman Wants" is a CD that highlights Lorena's cross-over potential, both in style and ethnicity with a Spanish-language number included. Lorena was able to translate and re-record the Kim Richey original titled "To Tell The Truth". The new Spanish version is titled "Di La Verdad". This is a CD with exceptional songwriting, production and instrumentation. The songs written by Lorena such as "Workin' Girl Blues", "Little Sister", "Upon My Knees" and "Along This Dusty Road", have all been written from a woman's perspective. This is a great CD for the listener who enjoys a wide variety of country music. If you're a country music lover, you'll love it. But if you're not a country music lover just take a listen anyway, you'll change your mind! Lorena Prater with Tracy LawrenceLorena Prater with Dan SealsIt's hard to categorize Lorena as she has her own style. High energy and top quality is the best way to describe this "Georgia Peach". Her big stage showmanship resembles Reba McIntyre, her high energy Shania Twain, and her big voice Judy Garland. Her acoustic shows and folk /country songs have been compared to the likes of Emmy Lou Harris and Linda Ronstadt. Even her all acoustic shows are performed with as much enthusiasm and high energy as with a full band. Imagine the closeness and intimacy of an all acoustic show, it's a sure fit for the smaller venue. Either way, she'll make you laugh, she'll make you cry, she'll even make you dance and then leave you standing for more.

Lorena is a rare type of talent who hits an emotional cord in everyone. As an independent recording artist and performer, Lorena continues to build her growing fan base as she receives standing ovations show after show. She's not only a singer, a recording artist and a songwriter but she's an artist who entertains with much dynamic style, grace and vitality. So for an unforgettable moment of true professional showmanship and versatility consider this Kansas artist. Remember "LORENA" is the "REAL DEAL" !
